Launched by the Sixties 39"x43.5" 2010

I went to university in San Francisco in the sixties.  The music, the politics, the fashions, the philosophies of that era launched me into adulthood.  I scripted the names of my favorite bands onto the tie dye fabric with bleach.  I painted the other fabrics to represent the turbulence of the Vietnam war.  (There's also some metaphorical grass.)  The sandhill cranes taking off were photographed by my husband and I printed them on more hand dyed fabric.  The sixties were the wind beneath my wings.  Peace.

  1. For those of us who lived through this era, your quilt really speaks to the heart. Awesome, Sara.
