Wine in the Garden 12" x 12" 2012

Because I'm retired and my art quilting is not a career, I can indulge in being a dedicated dilettante (from the Italian dilattare meaning to delight.)  According to my dictionary, a dilettante dabbles in a subject without real commitment or knowledge.  For me it means I delight in trying new ideas or making new pieces as the mood strikes me.  My plate, or I should say my design wall, is always full of assorted, usually disparate, intentions.  But I veered away from them all for a day to make this little quilt.... just because.  Dabbling = delight!
